New Music

We have big windows in our house, and sadly birds sometimes fly into them. I get very upset when they die. One time, when attending to a beautiful dead bird, my 4 year old daughter consoled me, saying: "It's okay daddy. Some birds live and some birds die." I was struck by the wisdom of these words coming from my beautiful little wonder... the deep and simple acceptance of what 'is.' I made an afro-house bumper with off-kilter mallets, melancholy strings, and a zippy synth ostinato centre-thread. The amazing Krystle Pyette took it on, and contributed gorgeous lyrics and melody to really bring the original inspiration to life (and death).

About Me

Your songs have a soul. Getting your music mixed and mastered by a professional can highlight that soul, bring out the magic in it, and make sure that everyone really hears what your music is saying. Whether it’s the lush textural atmosphere of an ambient piece, the drive and punch of a club anthem, or the delicate touch of an acoustic performance, I’m here to enhance, not erase — to refine, not reshape — so the soul of your music can be heard.
Okay. Good. But, you can find a thousand and one mixing and mastering services out there these days: lots of talented people, lots of not-so talented people, and even lots of not-so-talented not-so-people. It's hard to choose. How do you know what to look for?
Great mixing and mastering requires a ‘whole brain’ approach. It’s equal parts technical focus and creative vision. I love to work at the crossroads of detail-minded precision and open-minded creativity. Everything that passes through my studio is handled according to this delicate balance - with passion, patience, and a deep care for what will make your music feel alive.
